Inanimate Objects — a macabre celebration of the eerie power of everyday things when they take center stage in horror.
Do you have a chilling story lurking in your imagination about a cursed doll, a haunted mirror, a bloodstained locket, or even an ordinary object with an extraordinary, horrifying history? This is your chance to bring that nightmare to life — and have it recognized on a bigger stage.

The winner of Inanimate Objects will receive a free entry into Season 7 of the prestigious Killer Shorts Horror Short Screenplay & Prose Contest! (Be aware, after our contest has ended, the winning story will need to follow the Killer Shorts submission guidelines that can be read here.)
How to Enter Inanimate Objects
Submit a short horror story where an inanimate object plays a central or pivotal role in the horror.
Maximum word count: 4,000 words.
No Copyright or IP characters.
All genres of horror are welcome — psychological, supernatural, gothic, slasher, cosmic, experimental… as long as an object is essential to the story.
All participants will publish their stories publicly at the same time: Halloween Day (October 31) at 9:00 AM EST.
The winner will be announced that same day during a special Live Stream event.
