This is an awesome idea Erica and I think it will be a wonderful boost in visibility for fiction on the platform. I humbly submit my new serial "Departures" for next Monday's edition. The first episode drops on Tuesday, July 23rd. https://www.catchrelease.net/s/departures

You bring up something I hadn't considered which is closing comments on these posts after I stop taking suggestions. But, fear not dear friend! I have added you to the list for our 3rd issue. I will be doing these calls every Friday so normally you would have an opportunity to share this on the July 26th call for new fiction stories.

I might have missed the cut off, but I would like to share my literary short story, genre light sci fi set in a future dystopian America, about an autistic woman finding love and seeking freedom and community in a caste-based society

I'm sorry, Amy, but when I click the link I keep getting a message that says the post is Private and I cannot see it. Can you tell me the title of your story? Is it "A light at the End of the World"?

I'm really looking forward to the first installment of this and finding some new fiction to read.

I just published this week the first chapter of The Dying Fall -- a speculative dystopian novel about a music addict trying to survive in a society where music is classified as an illegal degenerative recreational drug.

"Just Like Home," the first installment of "North of Midnight," a serial from my Spell Weaver universe. Alexandra finds herself psychically drawn to the town of Santa Brigida, which seems perfectly peaceful and ordinary--until she gets a look beneath the surface.

Malayka has only just started, but her first chapter is delightfully interactive. I can’t wait to see where it goes next. It’s a gritty dystopia assassins. https://open.substack.com/pub/madebymalayka/p/the-valdis-recruit-chapter-one?r=1mk6at&utm_medium=ios Oh and Bridget Riley’s “Down in the Holler” is outstanding. It’s complete.

I’m going to share mine first then circle back to recommend someone else. First, it’s the 13th here but I think it’s the 12th where you are? So I am taking a risk and sharing the just published final chapter: https://open.substack.com/pub/projectstarfish/p/24-better-to-think-that-than-to-remember?r=1mk6at&utm_medium=ios There is an “All chapters” link to start at the beginning.

I got started posting my middle grade book as a serial this past Wednesday! I've already scheduled the next two chapters (which is why they're in the Index) but it's going to be once a week until it's done. That gives me time to do my checks, prep the voiceovers, and so on.

Okay, I'm going to send you a link to the first story I ever posted up here, because I put it up on THROWBACK THURSDAY. (I doubt if it qualifies because of its length.) It's called: THE AFRICAN SONGBOOK: A Tragedy In 5 Acts. https://benwoestenburg.substack.com/p/throwback-thursday?r=254e8w. Everything else I put up are segments of this, or sections of that...this is the only thing I posted in its entirety.

This was published on the 10th but I don't know if it counts because it's behind a paywall. The first few paragraphs can be read by anyone, though, and the 'Full list of chapters' link at the top is the first step to reaching chapter 1, which is free.
