Morning all! I am feeling optimistic about 2025, how about you? I’m sure it’s probably the time of year. Whenever I start playing Christmas music (yes, I started 10/1! come at me, bro!) I just get a sense of optimism and positivity that is sometimes hard to come by the rest of the year. Believe me, if I could I would play this music all year round! But even my ears need a rest from it, I’ll admit!
Anyway, because I’m in such a good mood I want to spread it around by doing two things today:
First, I want to reveal a surprise that I was going to hold until closer to the new year but, what the heck, I’m feeling good today! Starting in 2025, every issue will expand from featuring 15 stories to featuring 20! That won’t take away from the 5 Honorable Mentions I like to include as well. This means each month will see over 100 stories featured! Plus, the Monthly Recap will get beefier as well! I’m going to increase them from 16 featured stories to 24! I’m hedging my bets that all of you will be producing more fiction and there will be more fiction writers joining the community. TiF has to be able to grow along side you!
Second, we have surpassed 500 subscribers well before December (which was a personal goal of mine). And none of that would be possible without the many people who’ve added us to their Recommendation algorithm that Substack has created a long time ago. I want to thank each and every one of you here and now. So far, from just 32 of you recommending Top in Fiction we have gained nearly 200 subscribers! That’s pretty awesome in my book! So, without further ado, and in no particular order:
