TiF Around Town…
CORRECTION: I want to apologize to the NEW VOICES who were in last week’s Issues #28. The LINKS to their stories were not in the email that went out. Please visit the post HERE where I have updated the links accordingly.
Mishaps and mistakes that, when taken in hindsight, could’ve been mediated and corrected with little fuss. But I must first apologize to the viewers and to the guests for the tech issues that transpired on Friday (July 18th). If you’re living under a rock, I was meant to go Live with three amazing powerhouse women in their own right, who are doing some great serialized fiction work! So, to S.E. Reid, Hanna Delaney, and Bridget Riley I send apologies once more. I promise it’ll be the last time I apologize cause I have been licking my wounds ever since about it. The moment has passed and we must now look forward!
Which is why I’m so glad to report that:
I’ve figured out the tech issues so that when we next go Live in this way, you will be able to hear my guests. Promise!
All three have graciously agreed to give me another chance to get it right and get this panel on Serialized fiction off the ground again!
So, barring some natural disaster of which I have no control over, you can mark your calendars (again) for Friday, August 8th, when we will all return for a “Take 2 on Serials”! Why not sooner? I hear you saying? Well, my son’s 4th birthday bash extravaganza is happening next Saturday and ViF Voices is the following week! I need to space these things out! Not only for my sanity but for your sake as well.
Also, a brief announcement on changes you may have noticed about the Featured and New Voices section above:
In the meantime, here’s some news worth noting:
All events listed below can also be found on our Calendar of Events page.
TiF Voices - Wednesday, July 30th (times TBA) - We have a robust line-up of fiction writers who will join me for TWO sessions worth of reading a piece of fiction for you.
A TiF Disruption on Serialized Fiction - Friday, August 8th at 2pm EST - Take 2 for this event. Join me, S.E. Reid, Hanna Delaney, and Bridget Riley for some great discussions centered around their serialized fiction as well as the process in general of taking that work from draft to publish.
Inanimate Objects Event - Monday, September 15th to Wednesday, October 15th - The next TiF Press writing event is happening and if you see what’s happening with the Eye See You event, then you’ll want to get in on this one! As per usual you can opt to enter the contest or just write a story to participate in the event which is happening on Friday, October 31st for Halloween. More information such as word count length, theme, and the submissions link as well as judges and sponsor will be announced on September 15th!
