So how do you get added to "the wall of serials"? Hypothetically. Also I can't help feeling this is equivalent to containing serials to some niche never to be looked at properly. Please tell me I'm wrong. Why no inclusion in the weekly newsletter just a half arsed link?

Apologies for taking such a long time to get back to your questions. So much going on behind the scenes and I get so many comments it’s hard to keep track of them all. The wall of serials was created because I felt they were not getting “seen” as much as I would like based on how everything else was highlighted every week. I am afforded insight into the numbers that you cannot see. Such as how many clicks links get that are featured, etc. Based on that information I could see that Serials were not clicked as often as Short Stories or Poetry or Micro/Flash Fiction and with good reason. Many (if not all) of the serials are usually deep into their work. Meaning they are perhaps on chapter 36 or further into their story and so when they are featured each week that can be a deterrent to a reader looking for something to read. I want serials to be read. And therefore, the idea of the wall (perhaps a silly name but we are all about changing and adapting over time) came to mind. This will give a reader the opportunity to be enticed by the image card and then a short synopsis about the lengthier story. Hopefully, they will choose something that is consistently posting new chapters/episodes as well. They will be taken to the Index of that serial and decide for themselves to subscribe or not. The element of knowing how many episodes/chapters are there still exists as I am still sharing what’s new so long as the serial writers are filling out the form every Friday to be included at the top of the page and based on the numbers I can see that clicks are happening. I can’t control retention rates in any scenario, that is up to the writer and the reader to decide. I can only create the best scenario for good things to ultimately happen in the end. I hope I’ve answered your questions as best as possible. Oh, and as for how to get on the wall “hypothetically” of course, you’ll want to click the link that can be found on the wall of serials page that will take you to a form to fill out.

Fionn Flynn asks me to pass on his sincere thanks for being selected. He can't talk right now as he's head-down in a bucket of cider making sweet burbles and bubbles.

Thanks to Erica and all the team at the TiF factory for a great job week after week.
